Video Turnstile systems were originally produced by Biodata Ltd, data acquisition and control specialists since 1973. Then, in 2012, Biodata decided to form a new company dedicated to counting people and related specialisms. Biodata's people counting R & D and software teams moved to the new company. Smart Retail Sensing

People Counting Systems
Retail Sensing systems not only measure footfall and count people, but manage queues, display occupancy, track shoppers around stores, show heat maps of most visited areas, log passenger numbers and provide marketing information. The technology provides the basis for many applications in retail, leisure and other sectors.
Occupancy Counting
Our occupancy counting system lets you monitor different areas within the building, as well as the overall occupancy. Live totals are shown on smart phone apps, on LED displays and on secure web browsers. Visual alerts & texts are sent to warn staff when capacity limits are approaching.
Passenger Counting
The most accurate passenger counting systems use cameras and ai-trained software to log numbers of people getting on and off at each stop or station. Count only when the doors are open. Bikes, luggage, adults and children can easily be distinguished.
Vehicle Surveys
Using cameras and ai software, the vehicle traffic counting system is accurate in all conditions: day and night in rain, sun and snow. You can set the vehicle traffic detectors to count vehicles going straight on or turning. One camera can cover several exits of a junction.
Outdoor Counting
Tried and tested in the harshest of weather, outdoor people counting systems are over 98% accurate even in the busiest situations. Stores, shopping centres, venues, stadiums, attractions and even hot air balloons are using our open-air footfall and people counting systems. Counts are sent to the cloud for instant analysis.
